Learning Scalar: How to build non-linear, born-digital content on York's Scalar platform

Create a Project (or Book)

To begin working with Scalar, you will first need to create a book where you can add all your content including pages, media, and relationships.

To create a book:

Navigate to your Dashboard:
- If you have just logged in to Scalar, click the "Dashboard" link on the book selection screen (in the upper right hand corner)
- You can also get to the book creation screen at any time by clicking on the the "Account" icon in the upper right hand corner of the browser window.
Create a new book:
- Click the Create new book button
- Enter a descriptive title (you can change it later!)
- Click Create

You will be returned the the dashboard, and your new book will be displayed on the right hand side of the screen, listed by title. Click the title to access the book's front page (which will be blank!), or click the "Dashboard" button that appears to the left of the book title to get to the book's properties page.
