Nearly 150 refugees, most of them Jewsih, reached the city this afternoon from Philadelphia where landed by boat Thursday from Portugal. They were brought to this country through the Jewish Immigrant Aid Society and will find homes in Toronto and other centres. | In the upper left hand photograph a group of refugees in seen walking to awaiting motor cars. In this group are couples from Germany, Austria, Russia and France. In the photo at the right is a once wealthy resident of Yugoslavia being helped to his car by his son and a Red Cross attendant. He suffered a fractured skull while in Spain but recovered sufficiently to make the long trip to America. He once owned greats stands of forests, factories and several industrial firms in his homeland. | Babies were among the arrivals as seen in the lower left hand photograph. The mother and her baby came from Hungary. A woman and her pretty daughter are seen in the photograph at the lower right, coming from Spain."
