Conclusion
The Samson Dominion Ten-Ten Hair Setter was a very gender specific targeted product that to this day influences modern hair styling. As elaborated on above, the hairsetter has been recreated over the years, but keeps its same general design and styling process. It was advertised towards women to be easy, safe, and convenient. Since women in the 1960’s were held to the social expectation of constant perfection, this product was very appealing. Based on the preservation quality of our artifact, it is also clear that it was well made and can last for many years. Hair styling tools continue to evolve, but always seem to resort back to earlier, simple designs. Overall, our artefact is a well preserved and seemingly effective hair styling tool from the 1960’s.
