The King or Queen’s Plate
The King or Queen’s Plate is the most prestigious horse race in Canada. It was established in 1860, making it the longest consecutively ran race horse race in North America.
Prince of Wales Stakes
The Prince of Wales Stakes was inaugurated in 1929. [2] Unlike the King of Queen's Plate, it was not ran consistently in the first couple of decades. For example, in 1938, the race was not ran.[3]
