• 1 2019-03-14T14:01:31-04:00 What is the Canadian Triple Crown? 7 plain 2019-04-04T14:07:01-04:00 The Canadian Triple Crown is comprised of three races: the King or Queen’s Plate (depending on the gender of the monarch), the Prince of Wales Stakes, and the Breeders’ Stakes. The horse must win all three races. Although all three races were established before 1959, the races were not known as the Triple Crown until that year; thus, when Archworth won all three races in 1939, it was not known as the Triple Crown.[1]
   
  The King or Queen’s Plate
  The King or Queen’s Plate is the most prestigious horse race in Canada. It was established in 1860, making it the longest consecutively ran race horse race in North America.
   
  Prince of Wales Stakes
  The Prince of Wales Stakes was inaugurated in 1929. [2] Unlike the King of Queen's Plate, it was not ran consistently in the first couple of decades. For example, in 1938, the race was not ran.[3] 
  
  Breeders' Stakes
