The military unit embarks

On 8 March 1754, 111 French and German soldiers boarded the Prince de Conti at Lorient.

Seven of them remained at Lorient due to illness or other causes:One deserted before the ship left port: Simon Dalinot (n° 254)

Three were hired last minute on 9 March:
The latter three, along with the 103 other soldiers, set off toward their destination of South Asia that same day, 9 March 1754. They are listed as passengers for Bengal, but they all disembarked at Puducherry.
