It had a crew of 47, and a cargo capacity of 400 tonnes. Under the command of Jean Pottier de L’Horme, the Ville d'Archangeltravelled from Lorient to India and the Mascarenes and back.
Joséph Tréguier joined the voyage at Chandannagar on 6 May 1777, and thus made his way back to Lorient.
