18th C Indian Ocean Voyages

Golgotha (Calcutta/Kolkata)

The Prince de Conti was at Golgotha (Calcutta/Kolkata) on 4 and 22 October 1754.

Seven people, most of them women, disembarked at Kolkata.

The voyage's second death occurred while the ship was in the vicinity of Kolkata. On 19 October, a 28-year-old sailor named Julien-Pierre Roussel (n° 64) died of "flux de sang" (dysentery) while on the Ganges. He left no possessions of value.
